Short answer: three decisions before paying

Choose the exam, a centre that offers it and a session that fits your schedule. Register through the official platform and follow the confirmation received. Our site provides exercises; it does not reserve places, collect exam fees or issue certificates.

Keep language preparation separate from practical arrangements. A good practice score does not secure a place at a centre or confirm that a document suits your individual administrative application.

CIPLE registration is handled through CAPLE's registration link and published LAPE exam centres.

Choose a centre: finding a city is only the beginning

Use the official LAPE directory and compare two realistic options. Record the centre’s full name, address and contact details; a school offering Portuguese classes is not automatically a place where you can sit CIPLE.

Travel is part of the decision. Consider your route, time away from work and a margin for delays. If you need particular support to take the exam, contact the centre before paying and ask for written guidance. Do not assume every centre offers the same arrangements.

Each LAPE decides which exams to offer and how many places are available. Ask the centre about availability.

Registration checklist: keep a single record

Create a note dedicated to your registration. Before sending information, check you are on CAPLE’s official domain and that the summary matches your choices. An old screenshot is not evidence of current availability.

  1. Record the exam name and chosen centre.
  2. Check the session and date displayed on the platform.
  3. Compare your details with the identification document you intend to use; ask the centre about unclear mandatory fields.
  4. Read the rules and conditions before accepting them and paying.
  5. Keep the reference, payment receipt and received messages somewhere accessible.
  6. If confirmation is missing, check spam and contact the centre with your reference; avoid making multiple speculative bookings.

Payment: check the deadline for your current transaction

Allow time to finish the process rather than starting it on your commute. Read the instructions for your selected payment method and keep proof of payment. Do not copy banking details from a blog or third-party message.

Official confirmation is your checkpoint. A card charge or screenshot of the form alone does not explain your registration status. If something fails, report the time, reference and error message to the centre, without emailing full card details.

The CAPLE registration page specifies payment within 24 hours and registration confirmation after payment.

Useful questions to send to the LAPE

Ask specific questions, identifying the exam and session. A precise answer is more useful than asking whether there are “Portuguese exams”. Also ask where to find subsequent information about the oral appointment and results.

The following is an independent email template, not a CAPLE form. Replace the bracketed fields and do not send personal information to our website.

Portuguese email template to adapt

Bom dia. Pretendo realizar o CIPLE na sessão de [sessão]. Podem confirmar a disponibilidade e indicar onde consultar as instruções de inscrição e os horários? Tenho uma dúvida sobre [questão concreta]. Obrigado/a.

What needs confirmation for your own session

We do not publish real-time places or promise a certificate delivery date. Confirm your individual timetable, building access, any specific arrangements and exam-day contacts with the selected centre.

If you need the certificate for an application deadline, build your calendar from the official session information. Include publication of results and obtaining the document. Do not assume the exam date and the date you receive the certificate are identical.

While arranging registration, practise a specific task

Start with the instructions exercise: distinguishing choose, complete and match helps prevent answering the wrong task. Then use the course-enquiry audio to listen for days and times, and A2 practice to combine comprehension and production. Our materials are original educational exercises, not official questions or a prediction of passing.

After each session, record a difficulty and an action: “I confuse two times; tomorrow I will listen to a new message”. Follow the related guides for skills preparation and return to CAPLE’s platform for any registration confirmation.
