Proof of accommodation for AIMA: rental contract, receipt and declaration
Start with how you occupy the property and the precise procedure. AIMA’s notice distinguishes rental, loan-for-use and ownership evidence; a generic declaration does not resolve every situation.

Short answer
AIMA requests the applicant’s declaration of actual address and basis for using the property.
Before collecting attachments, write a factual sentence: I am the tenant, owner, usufruct holder or occupier under a loan-for-use arrangement. Compare that description with the document you have. A booking, transfer and contract demonstrate different things. Keep a folder for each property, including its full address and your moving date. This preparation helps identify gaps without purchasing unnecessary declarations or treating a social-media checklist as a complete answer for your circumstances. The procedure name matters as much as the address.

Rental, ownership and loan for use: organise the attachments
Use the confirmed list below to choose the relevant evidence category. For a rental, compare the contract name with your identity document and the receipt period with the month you need to demonstrate. For ownership or loan for use, check that the registry reference identifies the property you actually occupy. Keep the original file and a readable copy. Open each attachment before submission: an illegible bank image or cropped contract makes the real circumstances harder to understand and does not explain a missing document.

Rental: applicant-naming contract and previous-month receipt. Loan for use: contract and valid property certificate. Ownership/usufruct: valid property certificate or access code.
Do not edit a contract or describe a tenancy that does not exist. Assemble the elements of AIMA’s stated alternative and identify what depends on the owner or AT. Matching the property identification, owner’s identity and tax address deserves particular attention. An outdated tax address is a separate task to resolve. Adding more papers that show contradictory addresses can increase confusion rather than explain who occupies the home. Record what you have requested and what remains outstanding before considering the evidence complete.
If unnamed in the contract, guidance provides for a declaration identifying property, tenure and owner/name/tax number, plus an AT tax-address certificate less than 30 days old.
Will a parish declaration work? Check the procedure
The phrase proof of accommodation appears across services, but it does not mean that all services accept identical documents. Read the official page title and application type before relying on another person’s experience. Retain any instructions issued in your own case. Evidence for permanent EU-citizen residence, an address update and a procedure covered by this notice cannot be freely substituted. If instructions differ, seek clarification naming the procedure and describing the documents you hold, rather than submitting an unrelated checklist.

This notice does not accept parish attestations as evidence; do not generalise to other AIMA procedures.
Imagine moving into a relative’s home and finding that only the relative appears in the rental agreement. This is an editorial example, not a client story. First establish the legal basis of occupation and compare the situation with the official alternative; changing a name in a template is insufficient. Next organise the property details, identify the owner and check the tax-address position. If an element cannot be obtained, record the gap before declaring the documentation complete or making assumptions about acceptance.
A final checklist before attaching your files
Read the folder as though you were receiving it: can you identify the applicant, property, basis of use and relationship between the attachments? Separate old properties from the current address. Avoid screenshots showing only half an address. Name files by function and retain the originals. These are organisational suggestions, not additional AIMA requirements. Use the moving checklist for the wider process and track any address-change communication separately. A clear file structure is useful when an authority later asks you to explain a specific attachment.
Official resources and useful questions for the service
The resources below let you consult the notice and declaration directly. Before completing anything, confirm that the version remains available on AIMA’s website. If your circumstances involve student accommodation, several properties or another occupation arrangement, do not force them into an ordinary rental example. Prepare a specific question stating the procedure, connection with the home and missing document. Do not publish full contracts, another person’s tax number or certificate access codes in public forums simply to ask which evidence is needed.
Read the tenure-specific list and alternative for applicants not identified in the contract.
Official sources support the stated legal, language and certification facts. Plans, examples and checklists are independent editorial suggestions, not instructions from an authority.
